Sabino Holsteiner Filly for Sale

Bay Sabino Holsteiner Filly

Registered Holsteiner (AHHA) & Oldenburg (OLD-NA)

Foaled June 27, 2008

17.0+hh mature

LOOK OUT HUNTER WORLD!!!  Arriba was named as a tribute to her dam, Olé, and like her dam, both names are of Spanish origin.  "Arriba" has several meanings including "up", "on top of", and "above".  She has lovely feminine sabino markings with an almost lacy blaze, white bottom lip and four white pointy socks.  Like her dam, she's very laid back and was handled extensively after only a few hours of age.  Her legs were SO long when she was born, we had to help her to her feet for the first day until she figured out how to coordinate her stilts.  Hubby,

Marty, called himself her "training wheels".  But once she got the hang of it, she started running around everywhere and jumping anything - the garden hose and mom's lead shank were her favorite cavelettis.  Arriba was presented to the Oldenburg N.A. inspection where the judge commented on her lovely head and modern legs and type.

Arriba's sire is the beautiful modern premium hunter, Cabardino, who has been cleaning up in the 4' Regular Working Hunter divisions and is consistently the Champion or Reserve Champion at each competition.

Grandsire Candidus won numerous titles at Devon including Reserve Grand Champion and has received scores in dressage in the low 70's.

The legendary Cor de la Bryère (elite, Reserve Stallion of the Century), who appears FOUR times in Arriba's pedigree, produced many top-level competition and Grand Prix horses including Corlandus, the 1987 World Champion in dressage and Individual Silver Medal recipient at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul.  In 2004, Cor de la Bryère ranked 6th and in 2006 he ranked 16th for the USEF Leading Jumper Sires and to this day maintains a high ranking.

Caletto II (elite) is the sire of Ludger Beerbaum's mount, Classic Touch, the Individual Gold Medal recipient at 1992 Olympic games in Barcelona.  Caretino (elite) won his 100 Day Test and moved on to win the German Championships in Mannheim under Bo Kristoffersen, and under Ludger Beerbaum he continued his outstanding career until retired to stud.  Carpaccio (elite) was the Champion of his 100 Day Test, won his class at the Bundeschampionat, and received an overall breeding value score of 145!

Landgraf I (elite), who is also in Arriba's pedigree, became the most important sire of show jumpers in the twentieth century after siring the most money winning show jumping offspring worldwide.  Malteser was widely known for his positive influence on the expression of movement in the Holsteiner breed.  Arriba's great grand dam Aga is by Fax I who sired Farn (preferent), sire of the Dutch Preferent Sire of the Century, Nimmerdor.

This filly is going to make such an amazing hunter with her proven bloodlines and her flashy appearance.

SOLD!  Congratulations to Jason Pearson of OMG Equine, Ontario, Canada.  We are thrilled that Arriba will stay in Ontario and look forward to seeing her in the future!

Comments from her owner (2009): "Arriba is doing great and she is definitely Big.  Last we measure she was just shy of 14'3.  We are going to be showing her on the line this year, so we will keep you updated to the shows we are going to so maybe you could come and see her."

Congratulations to Hayley who named this filly.  Hayley is the third and final winner of our first annual Name the Foal Competition!
