Cheyenne was my very first horse and I was fortunate enough to find such an amazing soul that I connected with so deeply over the years.  I received Cheyenne as a 9-year-old and she had come from an abusive background and was very untrusting of humans at first.  She gave me quite the first few rides and threw me several times but I never gave up on her.  I use to spend hours just sitting out in the paddock with her watching her graze.  When she finally realized that no one would ever hurt her again, her amazing nature began to shine through.  We shared amazing moments together when she would allow me to jump on her bareback and then carry me through the paddocks while only holding on to her mane, or when we would go galloping through the fields where it felt as though

she would never stop running.  To this day, I've never ridden a horse that could run so fast and had so much heart.  Hearing her hooves thundering along the ground with the wind in my face, feeling her sheer power and knowing that she was showing me "her world", is an experience that I will cherish for the rest of my lifeAlthough she is now in semi-retirement, we still go for the occasional gallop and bareback ride.  Mostly, she gets to rule the farm, eat the best grass (usually the nicely trimmed stuff in our backyard), and lives a very peaceful life.

Cheyenne was bred for racing and sprinting is definitely her forté. But with her strong hind end and short back, she quickly and precisely maneuvered around jumping courses with great ease.  We successfully competed in the Central Western Trillium Circuit in the hunter as well as other recognized hunter circuits from 1994 to 1999.  Cheyenne is so athletic that she easily cleared 1.30m (~4'3") as seen in the photo above

Her career highlights includes 8 Champion and 13 Reserve Champion placements. She placed 5th over-all out of nearly 50 competitors in the Trillium Circuit Championships (from 10 consecutive shows) in 1994 and 11th over-all in 1995 having missed 3 of the 10 shows due to an injury.

Cheyenne's pedigree includes some of the best racing and foundation sires including Chicaro, Man 'O War, and Three Bars x 2, as well as the world famous Leo x 2, known for passing on his massive heart (which I'm convinced that Cheyenne has inherited).

Highly motivated and aggressive in the show ring, Cheyenne insisted on keeping the rails up. This courageous mare continually passed on her athleticism and competitive nature to her foals. She has had 4 foals that are all very athletic, up-hill and correct, and are successfully competing in both dressage and show jumping disciplines.
